“fireogfirs” is located right in the heart of Lydum/Nørre Nebel, a small village in the idyllic west coast region of Jutland, and is an excellent starting point for experiencing and exploring the West Jutland region. Despite its peaceful & rural setting, you can reach popular tourist destinations, well-known coastal towns, and vacation spots—and, of course, our biggest attraction: the North Sea—in just 10–35 minutes by car.
Along the nearby coast, you can access the beaches and the sea at a variety of locations: either on foot through the dunes or—as at Vejers and Børsmose—even by driving your car right onto the beach. Whether near a resort town or at a quiet, secluded spot along the coast: the choice is yours, and Jutland’s seemingly endless—and mostly fine-sand—beaches offer a relaxing experience even in the height of summer.
Fireogfirs
Built originally back in 1928, the fireogfirs building was completely renovated and modernized from 2024 to 2026. The house has retained its original charm and now offers two modern and comfortable guest rooms on the upper floor, both with their own en-suite bathrooms.

The small restaurant fireogfirs—on the ground floor—will be open two evenings per week: Fridays and Saturdays. Advance reservations are required, as we prepare everything fresh and are as sustainable as possible. Most of our fresh produce comes from close-by providers and typical danish gårdsbutikker.
About the region
With a population of only about 200 inhabitants, Lydum is a very small village. Yet there is plenty to discover. The old watermill, “Lydum Mølle” is a great starting & ending point for kayaking trips, and throughout the year, regular events are held that delight both residents and visitors alike. Since the summer of 2023, “Umbrella West Coast Exhibition” has been bringing international art and world famous artists to the west coast of Jutland and to our small village. From March through September, they curate four unique art exhibitions that are open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Our nearest town is Nørre Nebel, where you’ll find a variety of shops and supermarkets. The nearest beach—Nymindegab—is only about a 15-minute drive away. Just as easy—in about 20 to 30 minutes—you can reach the more tourist-oriented destinations of Henne Strand and Blåvand.
You can enjoy the relaxed Jutland village atmosphere, enjoy long walks aroung our little village or longer hikes in the nearby Skjern Enge Nature Reserve. Each spring & fall season swans, goose and many more migratory birds use the nature reserve as a welcoming stop along their migration routes.
Excursions and sports
Not only the North Sea, but also the nearby Ringkøbing Fjord is a fantastic location for water sports. Launch sites for stand-up paddleboarding, kitesurfing, and traditional windsurfing can be found along both the sea and the fjord coasts. Some of the streams and small rivers invite paddlers to launch their kayaks and/or canoes. Did you know that Denmark is also a paradise for anglers? There are countless “put-and-take” fishing lakes in the area. Popular spots for kitesurfers around the fjord include Bork Havn, Hvide Sande, and Ringkøbind, among others.
In nearby Nørre Nebel, there’s a bike and e-bike rental shop if you’d like to explore our region by bike.
Oh, and not to forget: there’s a selection of golf courses nearby. Most also come with 3-par/9-hole courses for a quick morning or afternoon round of golf. My favourite course nearby is close to Henne.
